Scripture Reading ... John Chapter 9

The healing of the blind man in the scripture above has a great significance to us all. It is more then just the fact that Jesus healed him. This healing is important and was a great miracle, but as you read the entire chapter, you find it is about much more.

Jesus filled a need in a person others had ignored. After all, this man was just a blind beggar.

Jesus often talked and helped those who were not of high class or part of the better social classes of people. He did this under great scrutiny of others around him. He helped those who were unable to help themselves. These people became followers and people who had far greater blessings and rewards then the scrutinizers.

There is a blindness which goes far deeper then our physical sight. It is the inner blindness that keeps us away from the truth which Jesus is trying to teach us in John Chapter 9 and in all of His words throughout the New Testament. Blindness to the truth is far worse then having eyes which can't see in the physical sense.
