Hope & Hannah

Hannah, the twin that lived.

A Memorial for Hope & A Celebration for Hannah

Loosing kids is the hardest of all losses. The younger they are, the harder it seems to be on the parents and grandparents. This is the memorial, and a celebration all at the same time. This is dedicated to the parents, grandparents, and other family members who had to deal with this happy yet sad event.

This memorial was a result of a friendship I found while dealing with the tragic loss of my son, Shane. (His memorial can be found in the navigation bar at the top of the page.)

Shortly after meeting Carla we became instant friends. She told me about her twin granddaughters. I wanted to show my sympathy and support. I also wanted to express my love for her, and her family by giving them these precious ones a page of dedication and memorial.

The birth of twin granddaughters was both a happy day and a sad one. Hannah Grace and Hope Renee were born on Sept. 12, 2003 - at 29 weeks. Hope was 1 lb, 10 oz. Hannah weighed 2 lbs. 4 oz. Hope died inuteral (stillborn). The babies were taken C-section two days later. Today, Hannah is a happy, contented baby. She has a few problems, due to her prematurity, but she is a fighter and she is going to be fine.

We must not forget to give a place in our hearts for the twin that lives. A piece of her is gone forever. We must Celebrate her life and remember the beauty within her is a reflection of little Hope who died. Hannah fought for life and won. She is a fighter. She now has a angel on her shoulder.

Carla and the rest of the family got to celebrate the birth of one baby while preparing the funeral of the other one. I want to give my heart felt best wishes for the entire family and hope everything goes great for them.

A Poetic Memorial

I am Hope Renae Cotton

God created us as one, but He split us into two.
An angel came to take me, my life began anew.
I had to leave you Hannah Grace,
Because God called me home.
But the bond between us, will never be broken,
Wherever you may roam.
Haley, you are my sister that I love so very much.
Sisters bonded, sisters true.
Hannah, Me and You.
Do you see that twinkling star above?
That's me! I'm winking down at you!
Mommy I will miss you.
You kept me safe and warm.
I felt your love surround me,
In my place within your womb.
I love you for all eternity, even though I had to part,
But Mommy don't you know?.
To you ? I left my heart.
Daddy, you are my forever hero.
My knight in shining armor,
I'm Daddy?s little girl.
I'd love to be there with you?.
But don't you see,
I left my heart to Mommy, but to you, I left the key.

To everything, there is a season,
A time to live, and a time to die.
A time to weep, and a time to laugh,
A time to mourn, and a time to dance.
Ecclesiastes 3

I am never far away.
When the sun is shining ? I am smiling down on you.
When the rain is falling ? those are my kisses.
When the wind is blowing, you?ll feel me against your skin.
Those are my hugs to you.
As you grieve for me and your precious tears fall?
Remember that I am happy. I am free. I am safe.
And I am alive.
And for you, I wait patiently.
